Ethics for authors

  1. Authors should ensure that their manuscript is original, non-redundant and a non-duplicate submission.
  2. Authors should present accurate data with sufficient details and references, and provide correct interpretation without bias.
  3. All authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and/or manuscript preparation.
  4. Authors should be aware of plagiarism and self-plagiarism. For any content previously published (including quotations, figures or tables), any necessary permission to publish must be obtained from the copyright holder.
  5. The manuscript must follow the IJPS manuscript format.
  6. For research using humans and animals, authors must provide an ethical statement that the relevant institutional research ethics committee has approved the study.
  7. Authors should acknowledge the sources of research funding and declare any potential conflict of interest.
  8. Authors of submitted manuscripts or published articles are solely responsible for the prosecution of copyright infringement, and published articles may be retracted.

Ethics for reviewers

  1. 1. All reviewed materials including submitted manuscripts must be treated as confidential. Reviewers must not share their review or any information about the manuscript with anyone, and reviewers must not contact the authors directly without permission from the editor.
  2. 2. Reviewers should follow the journal policy and critically assess the manuscript without personal bias, and submit their review with constructive comments within the timeframe.
  3. 3. Reviewers should report any research injudiciousness, unethical issues or potential conflicts of interest found in the submitted manuscripts to the editors.
  4. 4. Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer’s own research without the written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through the peer review process must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.

Ethics for editors

  1. 1. Editors must ensure that the peer review process is fair, unbiased, and timely.
  2. 2. Editors must select reviewers who have appropriate expertise in the relevant field.
  3. 3. Editors must protect the confidentiality of material submitted to the journal, communication with reviewers and authors, and reviewers’ identities, as the journal process of peer review is double-blinded.
  4. 4. Editors have the authority to accept, reject or request modifications to the submitted manuscript and the responsibility to select quality manuscripts to be published.
  5. 5. Editors should provide guidance to authors and reviewers and any information related to the journal.
