Abstract

Objectives :

To assess the reliability and validity of Thai ASRS screener V1.1

Method :

To obtain a Thai version of Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) Screener v1.1. We performed forward and backward translation of an original ASRS. Then we distribute the test to parents of ADHD children who received treatment at Psychiatric department, Siriraj hospital and vocational college students. 50 participants who scored positive and another 50 who scored negative for ADHD were randomly selected for an interview to confirm a diagnosis of Adult ADHD. We used content validation index (CVI), sensitivity, specificity and factor analysis to measure content, criterion and construct validity, respectively. We also tested internal consistency by using Cronbach’s alpha.

Results :

Thai ASRS Screener v1.1 had CVI between 0.83-100. The sensitivity was 0.93 and specificity was 0.71. Positive predictive value (PPV) and Negative predictive value (NPV) was 0.62 and 0.96 respectively. Internal consistency (IC) was 0.80. Every item had loading factor more than 0.4.

Conclusion :

Thai version of ASRS Screener v1.1 is a good screening test for adult ADHD since it has high sensitivity and NPV
