Abstract
การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสามารถในการทำหน้าที่ สมรรถภาพสมอง และภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุเจ็บป่วยเรื้อรัง ที่มารับบริการที่คลินิกโรคเรื้อรัง โรงพยาบาลชุมชน กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 290 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลคือ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไป ดัชนีบาร์เทลเอดีแอลและดัชนีจุฬาเอดีแอล แบบทดสอบสภาพสมองเบื้องต้นฉบับภาษาไทย 2002 และแบบวัดความเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุไทย วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา โดยใช้โปรแกรม SPSS ผลการศึกษาพบว่าผู้สูงอายุมีความสามารถในการทำหน้าที่ปกติร้อยละ 4.1 และผิดปกติร้อยละ 95.9 มีสมรรถภาพสมองปกติร้อยละ 88.7 เสี่ยงต่อภาวะสมองเสื่อมร้อยละ 11.3 ไม่มีภาวะซึมเศร้าร้อยละ 90.7 มีภาวะซึมเศร้าร้อยละ 9.3 ไม่พบปัญหาทั้ง 3ปัญหาร้อยละ 4.1 มีปัญหา 1 ปัญหาร้อยละ 76.3 มี 2 ปัญหาร้อยละ 18.9 และมี 3 ปัญหาร้อยละ 0.7

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate functional ability, cognitive function and depression for older persons with chronic illness. Therefore a sample of 290 persons was selected from older persons with chronic illness attended at a chronic care clinic in a community hospital. The instruments used for the collected data include general information, Barthel ADL Index, Chula ADL Index, Mini-Mental State Examination Thai version 2002 and Thai Geriatric Depression Scale. Data were processed by descriptive statistical analysis with the SPSS program. The results: Functional ability: normal 4.1%, abnormal 95.9%. Cognitive function: normal 88.7%, risk for dementia 11.3%. Depression 9.3% positive, 90.7% negative. No of problems: (0) 4.1%, (1) 76.3%, (2)18.9%, (3) 0.7%.
