Effect of Preparing Program on Caregivers’ Self Care Behavior for Pre – school Children with First Diagnosed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effect of preparing program on caregivers’ care behavior for pre-school children with first diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The sample size was consisted of twenty caregivers who was taking care of pre-school children with first diagnosed leukemia at 3D inpatient department, Srinagarind hospital, Khon Kaen province. The sample group was devided equally into two groups (experimental and control groups). The instruments used in the study consist of VCD, handbook and the questionnaire measuring the effect of preparing program on caregivers’ care behavior among their child based on Orem’s self – care theory. The data was analyzed by using independent pair t-test and paired

 t-test  Results show 1) After experimental, the mean score of caregivers’ care behavior in the experimental group was higher than control group. Theirs were statistically significant at 0.05

2) After experimental, the mean score of caregivers’ care behavior in the experimental group was significantly higher than before intervention
