The effectiveness of health promotion manual on health promoting knowledge among female inmates in Chiang Rai’s prison

Abstract

The purpose of this quasi - experimental research was to investigate the effectiveness of health promotion manual on health promoting knowledge among female inmates in Chiang Rai’s prison. Sixty subjects were voluntary selected and assigned equally into the experimental and control group. The research tool was the health promotion manual, which the efficiency test was 95/94.  Data were collected by using questionnaires with the reliability was 0.71. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, paired t-test and independent t- test.

The results revealed that after receiving the information via health promotion manual, the mean score of knowledge among the experimental group significantly increased at the level of .05. Even though the mean score of knowledge among the experimental group was higher than the control group but there was not significantly difference.
