A construction of the qualifi cation standard for a bachelor’s degree in nursing in Thailand

Abstract

This action research aimed to develop the qualifi cation standard for a bachelor’s degree of nursing program. Research participants were non nursing academic and nursing academic groups. Key informants were 430 persons. Data were collected by using questionnaires, and recording content of meetings and workshops. Descriptive statistics and content analysis were used to analyze the data. Results from 3 cycles,  the qualifi cation standard for bachelor’s degree in nursing was drafted and approved for announcement in 2009. By the year 2014, 85 nursing educational institutions implemented this qualifi cation standard in 91 nursing programs. After students graduate from institutes, the implementation of qualifi cation standard should be evaluated for further improvement.
