Early childhood is also a golden period of life in growth, development and learning. Children living with congenital heart diseases have complicated living conditions since the congenital heart diseases are vital diseases, the classification of congenital heart disease either cyanotic congenital heart disease or acyanotic congenital heart disease. Congenital heart defect may appear shortly after birth or late stage when the child growth up. The treatment for a congenital heart defect depends on the type and severity of the defect. Treatment may include the following: Medications, Cardiac Catheter Procedures, Heart Surgery and Heart Transplant. Congenital heart diseases effect in blood circulation, child growth and development, heart failure, and eventual death. This academic article aims to clarify the health promotion strategies. The following topics are discussed for promote the healthy behavior, child growth and development, nutrition, dental and oral care, immunization as well as the health promotion concept is presented as the nurse’s role. The healthy behaviors will maximize the healthy life and enhance quality of life for children with congenital heart diseases.
