Leadership, Spirituality at Work, Work-Life Balance and Job Performance of Operational Employees in Islamic Bank of Thailand (Head Office)

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study: 1) level of leadership, spirituality at work, work-life balance and job performance of operational employees of the Islamic of Thailand : Head Office 2) the relationship between leadership, spirituality at work, work-life balance and the job performance of these operational employees; and 3) use multiple regression analysis between of leadership, spirituality at work, and work-life balance as a predictor of job performance of these operational employees.

                 A variety of questionnaires were distributed to 242 operational employees of the Islamic Bank of Thailand (Head Office). General questionnaires, for extracting personal data; 2) Leadership questionnaires; 3) Spirituality At Work questionnaires, 4) Work-Life Balance questionnaires; and 5) Job Performance questionnaires. The resultant data was analyzed using a statistical program to assess percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlations and multiple regression analysis.

            The results of the research showed the following; 1) the level of leadership , and spirituality at work, were present at a high level among operational employees, furthermore, they also achieved commendable results in terms of work-life balance and job performance; 2) leadership, spirituality at work, and a good work-life balance had a positive relationship with job performance at a .01 level of significance (r =.194, .405, and .610 respectively); and 3) multiple regression analysis  indicated that spirituality at work, and a satisfactory work-life balance can predict job performance to a 38.8% (R2 =.388) degree at a .01 level of significance.
