Wuhan: The Leading city of the Rise of Central of China plan and its linkage to the BRI

Abstract

Wuhan City（武汉市）, the metropolis and the economic center of Hubei Province. Currently, Wuhan has over 10 million populations. It’s also China’s fast-growing economic, with 7th position in China’s GDP ranking. Back in 2018, the economic growth of Wuhan had reached 10.96%, which recorded a 941,805 yuan GDP. For the past decade, since the Central government announced the strategy to develop the Central China region in 2006, Wuhan’s economic growth was faster than other cities located in the same region. The Rise of Central of China plan establishment provided Wuhan the great opportunities. It was drive Wuhan, which known as one of the important cities of China since The Spring and Autumn period（春秋战国）, become the economy and technology leader in the Central China region. With the various dimensions of developments, it causing Wuhan to be placed as another strategic point under the Belt and Road Initiative.
