Home Visiting of Nurses for Caring the Dependent Elderly People

Follow-up home visit is the caring activity and is one of the health supportive ensemble kinds to use home or residence as caring base instead of hospital and currently Thailand has increased numbers of elder that needed dependable conditions continuously. Thus, from the survey has found type of elders that cannot leave home in the total of 850,000 people and in this total is bedside patients who needed all kinds of activity in caring in the total of 150,000 people. Most of the causes happened from body degeneration as according to ages and happened from illnesses that caused disabilities, such as, stroke that caused paralysis or palsy, the final stage of Alzheimer disease and from many accidents. In order to care for longer period and for final period of patients to deserve ones’ dignity of man, Thai Public Health has divided the Caring System into 4 systems, they are (1) The Caring in Hospital (2) The Caring at Home health care by Elders’ Bedside (3) The Caring in Community and (4) The Caring at Home. Thus, the significant roles that nurses must perform to respond with the Caring Systems are the Follow-up Visits of Elderly Bedside Patients. Therefore, by this article, author has applied the nursing theory of Nightingale Theory of Nursing and the theoretical system of Follow-up of Elderly Bedside Patients and has arranged for Writing in Sequence in visiting home as follows: Before visiting home, nurses must plan for visiting plans, must specify for visiting indicators, must design for visiting objectives and must plan for home visiting and the period of home processes in accordance with the concept of “INHOMEMESS”. Thus, after visiting homes, there are significant activities, such as, data analysis, plan for problem solution for the next follow-up visit and to record data systematically.
