Abstract

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to study the conceptual framework suitable for developing the spiritual leadership of teachers influencing the virtue and ethic enhancement of students in the Salesian family schools in Thailand; (2) to analyze the current and desired state for developing the spiritual leadership of teachers which impacts on the virtue and ethic enhancement of students in the Salesian family schools in Thailand; (3) to develop strategies for the development of the spiritual leadership of teachers affecting the virtue and ethic enhancement of students in the Salesian family schools in Thailand. A descriptive approach was used. The population of the study was 22 Salesian family schools in Thailand. In total,there were 345respondents, both directors and teachers. Questionnaires, descriptive statistics and a Modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified) were applied as the research instruments.

The results demonstrated that: 1.there are three aspects of conceptual framework:   1) spiritual leadership development; 2) spiritual leadership; 3) the virtue and ethics that are the characteristics of the Salesian students. 2. The average figure of the desirable stage of the spiritual leadership development of teachers affecting the virtue and ethic enhancement of students in the Salesian family schools in Thailand was higher than the current state in all aspects. 3. 2 major strategies, with 4 sub strategies, and 16 procedures were designed for developing the spiritual leadership of teachers of affecting the virtue and ethic enhancement of students in the Salesian family schools in Thailand, which are the strategy of reforming Off The Job Training and generating a new culture of On The Job Training in order to gain strength in the organization.
