The Component of Being a Professional Teacher in the 21st Century Model Based on the Buddhist Integrated Ethics of Profession

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to synthesize and analyze the confirmatory factor of the components of being a professional teacher in the 21st century based on the ethics of profession with Buddhism integration. The samples were 265 teachers in primary and secondary schools. The instruments were the documentary analysis form and the questionnaire. The data analysis were content analysis, the descriptive statistical analysis, and the confirmatory factor analysis. The research results were the components of being a professional teacher in the 21st century based on the ethics of profession with Buddhism integration were: 1) the instruction, the ethics of profession, 3) the thinking skills, and 4) the Buddhism principles for being teacher, and the components were found that model was fitted with empirical data with Chi-Square (x2) = 192.67,  Probability value (P-value) = 0.000, Degree of freedom (df) = 104, Chi-Square Statistic (x2/df) = 1.85, Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) = 0.90, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) = 0.85, Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 0.99, Root Mean Square of Error Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.065, Factor Loading (β) = 0.29 – 0.95, and the value of significant different of .10.
