Abstract

This article aims at the idea of His Serene Highness Sithiporn Kridakara and has found that his idea puts a special emphasis on agriculture which is inevitably linked to Chinese immigrants’ complications, who immigrated to Siam during the absolute monarchy era. While the global trend was rapidly transforming to the new system, this situation posed significant threats to absolute monarchy state like Siam. Then, he who was a royal-blooded person was considered as an anomaly since his intention was to do crop-farming instead of being in the service. His resignation from the service did not stop him from the political role; this action rather pushed him forward to bring the state to the prosperity. Apart from expressing his views through a newspaper, as known as “Kasikorn”, he also dedicated his time on agriculture which was highly beneficial to Siam during the Era. However, his views and his role on the issue are rather closely linked to his political ideology as well as his expression on the Newspaper. Another role of His Serene Highness was a privy councilor who played a critical role on expressing progressive views that helped absolute monarchy struggled against political change from its citizen.
