A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN FOR THAI CONTEMPORARY JEWELRY TOWARDS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) establish a concept design of Thai contemporary jewelry 2) study consumer satisfaction along with the design of contemporary Thai jewelry for women. A concept design of Thai contemporary jewelry was based on an integration of knowledge among Thai ancient embellishment – Tnim Pimpaporn style that based on the uniqueness, pattern and appearance of the embellishment and modern arts including Gothic Art, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco. All of this knowledge was employed to design the new different pieces of the modernized classic jewelry that are acceptable to purchase and wear in present.


The survey was conducted in this research with attached 14 sets to ask 100 female respondents that were selected purposive sampling method based on 4 groups of female customer's clothing personality including 1. Classic style, 2. Natural style, 3. Romantic style, and 4. Dramatic style. The 4 groups of female respondents were informed to rating all of 14 sets relied on their satisfaction and individual fashion reference.


The result found that the majority of respondents satisfied with the Thai contemporary jewelry design in the Phring set, the Singha Ayothaya set and the Koalamtat set respectively.
