The Model Leadership of Administrator Basic Education School Principal in The 21 st Century

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) analyze the factors of leadership of administrators in the 21st century, 2) develop a leadership model of administrators in the 21st century, and 3) evaluate the model of administrators in the 21st century. The research had 3 stages. Stage 1 was a factor analysis of administrators’ leadership in the 21st century by studying related documents and interviewing 10 experts. Data were collected from a sample group of 492 persons. The instruments used were an interviewing form and a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.93. The statistics used were content analysis, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and EFA. Stage 2 was a development of the leadership model of administrators in the 21st century by way of holding a seminar of 11 connoisseurs. The instruments used were a draft of the leadership model of administrators in the 21st century and seminar documents. The statistics used was content analysis. And stage 3 was an evaluation of the leadership model of administrators in the 21st century. Data were collected from school directors and teachers, totaling 9 persons. The instrument used was a model evaluation form. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, and standard deviation. The findings were as follows:


  1. Factor-surveying analysis of leadership of administrators in the 21st century found 6 factors consisting of 1) modern age management, 2) paying attention to characteristics, 3) having technology and communication skills, 4) being good administrator by using development, 5) focusing on problem solving, and 6) leading to a good role model.

  2. The leadership model of administrators in the 21st century comprised 4 parts which are 1) introduction; 2) content and ways to implement; 3) development process of the model; 4) success conditions.

  3. The evaluation of the leadership model of administrators in the 21st century in 4 aspects found that the aspects of 1) correctness, 2) suitability, 3) feasibility, and 4) usefulness were at a high level.
