The Dhamma Practice by the Contemplation of the Five Aggregates of Women in Thai Buddhism

Abstract

This research has three purposes: 1) to study the five Aggregates in Theravada Buddhism; 2) to study the practice of Dhamma of women in the Theravada Buddhist Scriptures; 3) to study the practice of Dhamma by the contemplation of the five Aggregates of women in Thai buddism. The research is done by documentary research and in-depth interviews of women and venerable master. According to the studies, it has been found that contemplation of the five Aggregates is a practice for the sake of escaping the suffering with the state of the mind that understands the nature of the five Aggregates in the natural process of life. It is impossible for the normal people to see the nature of it at the beginning of their practice. It is necessary to rely on Satipatthana 4. And, in the practice of case study of women that are highly regarded in the virtue, we found that. The laydevotees practice the Dhamma during while listening to the Dharma and then develope their wisdom by considering the occurrence and extinguishment of the compound of things. And most of the Bhikkhuni practice the Dhamma according to their habits and wisdom. Evidently, there are many Bhikkhuni that practice the Dhamma based on Satipatthana 4 and then develop thier own wisdom. In the case of where there is evidence of the way of intellectual development, they practices by contemplation of the five Aggregates. As for the Dhamma practice of women in Thai Buddism, they practice by contemplate the five Aggregates following the teaching of the venerable master. The teaching of the venerable master is similar to the practice in the Buddhist scriptures. The practioners can attain the dhamma if the method of practice is done properly.
