Each finger pattern was characterized into 4 types: arch, radial loop, ulnar loop, and whorl.<br />Results: Mean scores of the pattern asymmetry among male and female subjects were 1.08 (S.D.=1.01), and 1.27 (0.98), respectively; the pattern complexity index was 4.59 (3.56) among<br />male and 4.01 (3.72) among female subjects which is significantly different.
