Abstract

This study is mixed method by using quantitative method in older person demographic information, social activities participation level, and factors related to social activities participation. While, qualitative method was used to explain quantitative data for success factors which were promote older person participating in social activities participation continuously. Quantitative data were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis with significant difference at level .05 and qualitative data were using interpretation method.

The result showed that social activities participation were in low level. The most social activities older person were involve was religious activity. Education level effected to social activities participation 4.1 % (R2 = 0.041, p < 0.001). Education and gender were predictor for social activities participation in older person 5.8 % (R2 = 0.058, p = 0.001). The result of qualitative analysis found that factors were promoted social activities participation in older person were religious activity patterns, convenient transportation, having a pick up during activities, having incentive rewards, having invitation letter. The obstructive factors in social activities participation including personal factors which were older ages, having job, having child to take care.
