Abstract

The massive document processing and using computer with conventional filing system will no
longer support the Thai Traditional Medical Council (TTMC) administration. The TTMC needs the
information system that provides up-to-date membership information and serves timely demand with
appropriate expenses in data processing. The purpose of this study was to design the TTMC membership
data structure for further database development, using the entity relationship model of database
design for normalization with the TTMC data structure. The data were those required by the TTM
Professions Act B.E. 2556 (2013) as well as rules, regulations, and notifications related to the TTMC
membership database development. The database structure was designed to include personal information
starting from entering the TTM educational system, licensing examination, membership, licensing
and renewal of licence, and training after registration. The components of this data structure are
personal identity (citizen ID number), knowledge transfer unit, model of curriculum certification, certified
curriculum, right to examination, examination results, membership, licensing and its status, voting
in TTMC election, and training after licensing. The designed data structure covers both current TTMC
operations and future rules and regulations. The implementation of the TTMC membership database
system will provide the right information at the right time to all concerned parties.
