FACTORS AFFECTING ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOR OF STAFF IN THE UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to compare organizational citizenship behavior by personal factors including gender, age, types of staff, average salary, job tenure, status and educational level, 2) to study human resource management affecting organizational citizenship behavior, 3) to study quality of work life affecting organizational citizenship behavior, and 4) to study organizational commitment affecting organizational citizenship behavior. A sample of this study consisted of 321 personal at private universities and Rajabhat universities in Chatuchak district and Bangkhen. The research is tremens were the questionnaires asking for general information of the responders included as a sample staff of academic department and staff of support. Data were collected via questionnaire and statistical analysis include percentage, mean, standard deviation,       t-test, F-test and multiple regression analysis.


          The research results found that 1) personal factors include type of staff, average salary and educational level affecting organizational citizenship behavior, 2) human resource management in terms of reward and motivation affecting organizational citizenship behavior, 3) quality of work life in terms of adequate and fair compensation, safe and healthy environment, constitutionalism in the work organization and social relevance affecting organizational citizenship behavior, and 4) organizational commitment in terms of affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment affecting organizational citizenship behavior.
