The purposes of this research were to 1) study the problems and needs of the community related to the use of information and communication technology skill to enhance marketing and conservation of Ban Lao bamboo flute local wisdom, 2) workshop on skill in using information and communication technology to enhance marketing and conservation of local wisdom, and 3) evaluate the result of workshop on skill in using information and communication technology to enhance marketing and conservation of local wisdom. Our sample was a community leader and local wisdom owner who lived in the Bang Sai Kai community (Thonburi in Bangkok) and still occupied the production of Lao’s flute. We conducted this work for 5 families with the relevant documents and research, interviews, group discussions and workshops on skills in using information and communication technology to enhance marketing and conservation of Ban Lao bamboo flute local wisdom.
The result of research that Bang Sai Kai community needs public help to promote the marketing of flute production, which currently has only five families. The problems come from not only the lack of strong leader, motivation to work together, and harmonic but also time’s mismatching. Accordingly, such community desires to learn how to use information and communication technology for online selling, product development, and conservation of local wisdom. In addition to the study, our workshop on skill presented that the participants had better skill in using information and communication technology than before. They were satisfied in training are high level, enable to earn more money from online product sales, and establish their community groups to enhance marketing and conservation of Ban Lao bamboo flute local wisdom.
