Abstract

New technology changed rapidly so it caused intense business competition. Business
development responded customer’s need in time on cost effective this is the core of
creating competitive advantage. This study took the value stream mapping (VSM) to analyze
the order response process of finished flooring in a finished concrete production company
that taking long time than necessary and non-added value activities in order response process.
From analysis found that this purchasing order response process of finished flooring had time
776 minutes totally or 2-day while on working day had 3 more activities only used total time
of 85 minutes, there were necessary activities but not added value for 12 activities used total
time for 126 minutes and there were not added value for 7 activities used total longest time
for 565 minutes. From analysis result believed that company should improve the purchasing
order response process to customer faster.
