Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the types of playground equipment in twenty eight playgrounds and twenty one main Bangkok public parks. The sample comprised 521 pieces of playground equipment.  The research instrument was a checklist form. The data were analyzed using frequency and percentage.

The results showed that: The playground has been set up playground equipment. There were 7 types of playground equipment, namely, slides, swings, climbers, balance equipment, seesaws, spring-mounted, and merry-go-rounds. The first three highest percentages of types of playground equipment were a climber (34.36 %) with nine different figures such as tunnel, flexible climber, arch, sliding pole, spiral, dome, upper body equipment, cliff climber, and loop pole climber, followed by a slide (18.62 %) with five different figures such as narrow standard slide, wave, tunnel, spiral, and banister, and a swing (18.23 %) with two different figures such as single axis swing and multi-axis swing. The lowest percentage of the types of playground equipment was merry-go-rounds (1.34%).
