Abstract

The objective of this research entitled the Influence of Media on Political Change: A Case Study of Blue Sky Channel was (1) to study the origins and history of the Blue Sky channel, a Satellite TV Station (2) to study the political communication processes of Blue Sky channels, a satellite TV station during October, 2013 and May 22, 2014. Data were analyzed from documentary or research papers. Researcher applied qualitative research as the methodology. Research tool were an interview and participating observation for data collection. Specific criteria for selecting sample were clearly determined to get the sample size of 25 consisting of producer, academician, and other people who know and understand Blue Sky Channels, a Satellite TV station.


The research result was found that the origin and history of the Blue Sky channel, a Satellite TV Station was established in 2011. it is a station for the Democrat Party which defined the scope of their operation as following: introduces the democratic concept and ideology to the public, supports the political opinions, processes, and political communication to people, perform the desirable role according to the social expectation toward the political influence as the mass media in a democratic society.
