The purposes of this research were to study the needs for developing desirable characteristics in the 21st century of primary school administrators in Nakhon Phanom Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, and to compare the needs to develop the desirable characteristics of the primary school administrators of primary schools under Nakhon Phanom Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample size was 351 primary school administrators. The instrument used for collecting data was a set of 5 rating scale questionnaire wit reliability of each item betweer.28-89, and of a whole set at.97. The statistics used were mean (x̄), standard deviation (S.D) T-test and F-test one way analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA).
The results show that the overall need for development of the desirable Characteristics of the primary school administrators as perceived by the administers and teachers was statistically significant different at the .01 level.
