Abstract

This research aims to explore teachers’ content knowledge for teaching geometry grade 7 in classroom using lesson study and open approach. With qualitative of case study research methods, the plan is a research tool, presented data analysis by descriptive analysis, the case studies in this research is student teaching in secondary schools, Data were protocol analysis within Domains of mathematical knowledge for teaching by Ball et al. (2008) and the concept of Lesson Study and Open Approach by Inprasitha (2010). The results showed that classroom using lesson study and open approach 1) Case study have common content knowledge is able to tell the meaning of a line segment angle and perpendicular. In addition to case study describes about straightedge and to explain how to use a compass correctly, the straightedge and compass is the main tool used in learning the subject basic of construction. Case study of can tell characteristics and properties of triangles and rectangles.2) Case study have specialized content knowledge is able to construct a line segment to the size of the segment is defined and can tell you how to bisect a line segment is defined by the compass. Can tell how to construct the angle same size of the angle defined and can tell you how to bisect the angle defined by the circus. Case study can tell how to construct a perpendicular line from the outside and on the straight lines defined by the compass. Case study using knowledge for manage learning. 3) Case study have horizon content knowledge is can be used method to bisect a line segment by the compass for connect to bisect the angle by the compass. And construct a perpendicular line from the point outside and on the straight lines defined by the compass.
