Role of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Emergency Department

Abstract

Point-of-Care ultrasound has been integrated in clinical practice in critical care for approximately 10 years in Thailand. They were implemented by emergency physicians in many steps in emergency setting especially advanced life support guidelines such as advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), advanced trauma life support (ATLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), pre-hospital trauma life support (PHTLS) to improve rapid and effective decision making, enhance triage, diagnosis, therapy, monitoring, and follow up.
