ตัวละครประเภทมนุษย์เหนือธรรมชาติในนวนิยายเรื่อง “หน้ากากดอกซ่อนกลิ่น” ของแก้วเก้า

Abstract

                การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาตัวละครประเภทมนุษย์เหนือธรรมชาติในนวนิยายแนวจินตนิมิตของแก้วเก้า โดยบทความนี้นำเสนอผลการศึกษานวนิยายเรื่อง หน้ากากดอกซ่อนกลิ่น ซึ่งเป็นนวนิยายเรื่องหนึ่งที่แก้วเก้าใช้กลวิธีการสร้างตัวละครมนุษย์เหนือธรรมชาติ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ลักษณะเหนือธรรมชาติของตัวละครมนุษย์ในนวนิยายที่แก้วเก้าสร้างขึ้นมีความสำคัญต่อโครงสร้างของเรื่อง และมีนัยสำคัญในการเสนอสารของนวนิยาย คือ การเรียนรู้ของตัวละครในการแยกแยะความจริงออกจากความลวง ซึ่งภาวะเหนือธรรมชาติที่เสนอในนวนิยายเปรียบเสมือนปัญญาที่ช่วยให้ตัวละครหลุดพ้นจากความหลงในรูปลักษณ์ภายนอกของคนที่ซ่อนความเลวร้ายไว้ภายใน นวนิยายของแก้วเก้าจึงไม่ได้เป็นเพียงนวนิยายจินตนิมิตที่นำเสนอเรื่องราวเหนือธรรมชาติที่ให้ความบันเทิงแก่ผู้อ่านเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นนวนิยายที่ผสมผสานลักษณะของนวนิยายแนวสัจนิยมที่นำเสนอความหมายเพื่อให้ผู้อ่านตระหนักถึงความจริงของชีวิตมนุษย์อีกด้วย

                The objective of this research is to investigate supernatural human characters in the fantasy novels of Kaeo Kao. This paper reports on the analysis of Na Kak Dok Son Klin (the Tuberose Mask), which is one of the novels that Kaeo Kao includes supernatural human characters. The results indicate that the super-naturalness of the human characters is of critical importance to the structure of the story and the presentation of the theme. It is an intellectual symbol for the characters’ life learning, that is, how to distinguish truth from deception. It helps the characters to emancipate themselves from the illusion of those who disguise their wickedness. As such, Kaeo Kao’s novels are not only fantasy novels that present super-naturalness to entertain readers, but they also integrate features of realist novels which convey crucial messages to make readers realize the truth about human’s life.
