เครื่องประดับแห่งชีวิต

Abstract

               “เครื่องประดับแห่งชีวิต” เป็นบทความจากโครงงานสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะสื่อผสมเกี่ยวกับเครื่องประดับร่างกายซึ่งมีที่มาจากรูปทรงของอวัยวะภายใน ภายใต้แนวคิด “เครื่องประดับแห่งชีวิต” ด้วยความเชื่อที่ว่าอวัยวะภายในมีความสำคัญมาก หากเกิดความบกพร่องก็ยากที่จะหาอวัยวะใหม่มาทำงานทดแทนอวัยวะเดิมได้ ประกอบกับทัศนคติในเชิงลบจากคนทั่วไปต่อการพบเห็นอวัยวะภายในร่างกายที่เกิดจากอุบัติเหตุหรือการผ่าตัด ซึ่งมักจะมาพร้อมกันการฉีกขาดของกล้ามเนื้อและเส้นเลือดที่แดงฉาน ล้วนสร้างภาพความน่าสะพรึงกลัวและความรู้สึกสยดสยองต่อการรับรู้ทั้งสิ้น ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงก่อให้เกิดแรงบันดาลใจในการนำอวัยวะต่างๆ ในร่างกายมานำเสนอเป็นผลงานศิลปะให้เห็นถึงความสำคัญ ผ่านคุณค่าของความงามและความพิเศษของอวัยวะภายในเหล่านั้น

               โดยมีแนวคิดและวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อต้องการนำเสนอผลงานเครื่องประดับบนร่างกายที่มีรูปลักษณ์ของรูปร่างสตรีและเครื่องประดับซึ่งเป็นรูปทรงจากอวัยวะภายใน เช่น สมอง หัวใจ ปอด เต้านม เส้นเลือด และเส้นเอ็น เพื่อแสดงมุมมองของทัศนคติเชิงบวกที่มีต่ออวัยวะภายในร่างกายมนุษย์ เพื่อสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นเป็นผลงานศิลปะสื่อผสมนำเสนอในแนวทางของศิลปะอินสตอลเลชั่น ผลงานแสดงความงามและลักษณะพิเศษที่มีคุณค่าเฉพาะตัวทั้งทางด้านร่างกายและจิตใจและหลายชิ้นมีคุณสมบัติในการบำบัดรักษาโรคเมื่อสวมใส่ลงบนร่างกาย

               ผลงานสร้างสรรค์ชุดนี้เป็นประติมากรรมสื่อผสมที่มี 2 รูปลักษณ์สำคัญทำงานร่วมกัน คือส่วนของรูปลักษณ์อวัยวะภายในร่างกายได้สร้างสรรค์ขึ้นเป็นเครื่องประดับร่างกาย (Body Jewelry) และส่วนของชีวิตซึ่งสร้างสรรค์เป็นประติมากรรมร่างกายมนุษย์ ทั้ง 2 รูปลักษณ์ที่แตกต่างกันนี้จะทำงานส่งเสริมซึ่งกันและกันในการแสดงความหมายของ “เครื่องประดับแห่งชีวิต” ในส่วนของเครื่องประดับร่างกายนอกจากการคัดสรรอัญมณีเพื่อสร้างความงามแล้วยังมีคุณสมบัติความเชื่อที่ส่งผลดีต่อร่างกายด้วย นอกจากนี้ยังได้นำคุณสมบัติของกายอุปกรณ์ซึ่งเป็นอุปกรณ์ทางการแพทย์ที่ใช้บำบัดรักษาโรคมาใช้ในการสร้างสรรค์ประกอบร่วมกันอีกเพื่อให้ผลงานมีคุณค่ามากยิ่งขึ้น

               ศิลปะสื่อผสม “เครื่องประดับแห่งชีวิต” ได้เผยแพร่ในรูปนิทรรศการผลงานศิลปกรรม ซึ่งผู้ชมได้ให้ความสนใจเป็นอย่างมาก ใช้เวลาในการพินิจพิจารณาแล้วยังให้ความเห็นว่าเป็นผลงานที่ช่วยสร้างความพิเศษ ความมั่นใจทั้งกับคนที่มีสรีระปกติและคนที่มีสรีระผิดปกติให้ออกสังคมได้อย่างภาคภูมิ ทั้งข้อคิดเห็นและอากัปกิริยาของผู้ชมต่อผลงานถือได้ว่าเป็นการสะท้อนกลับตอบโจทย์ แนวความคิดและวัตถุประสงค์ของการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานชุดนี้อย่างครบถ้วน

              "Jewelry of Life" is an article focused on a collection of mixed-media body jewelry inspired by shapes of human internal organs under the concept of "Jewelry of Life".  Regard to the belief that internal organs were not only essential to the human body but also irreplaceable. However, the general public had often shown negative attitude toward the idea of viewing inner body tissues due to its association with accident or surgery, during which these organs were in their most damaged and unpleasant state, further emphasized their horrific nature and the feeling of terror they induced. This collection of artworks was inspired as a way to communicate the importance of body organs through the value of beauty in art.

               Based on the concept and objectives of this collection, body jewelry were presented in the form of female figures, together with jewelry pieces shaped to resemble human internal organs such as brain, heart, lungs, breasts, blood vessels and ligaments. These wearable mixed-media installation artworks aimed to present a positive attitude toward human internal organs and to exhibit not only the aesthetic beauty of each artwork, but also the unique healing properties and their effects on the wearer's body and mind.

               As series of mixed-media sculptures, this collection consisted of two unique features: the body jewelry inspired by shapes of internal organs and the body sculpture of female figures to represent vitality. These different features worked together harmoniously to showcase the meaning of "Jewelry of Life". To further improve on the concept, the matter of how specific components relate to the body was also taken into consideration; the types of gemstone used in the body jewelry were selected not only for their beauty but also for their healing properties, while characteristics of medical devices such as orthoses and prostheses could be observed in some aspects.

               "Jewelry of Life" was presented as an art exhibition and had drawn significant attention from the attending audience. Many had taken time to examine the details and provided comments on how these works could benefit both people with and without disability by promoting self-confidence and allowing them to proudly engage in social functions. As evident from the feedbacks and reactions of the audience, the success of the proposal, concept and objectives of this collection of works was conclusive.
