Self-Practical Characteristics in Accordance with the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy for Teaching Profession Development: Lessons from the Knowledge Synthesis and Multi-Case Study

Abstract

                 The research objective was to identify the self-practical characteristics in accordance with the philosophy of sufficiency economy for teaching profession development with the synthesis of knowledge from research documents and the knowledge extraction from the multi-case study of teachers and educational personnel. Sources of data and key informants were fifteendocuments and research papers, four teachers and educational personnel who had been granted the Golden Phra Pharuehatsabodi Awards in 2013, and 5 experts with relevant knowledge and expertise. Tools used in this research were the document analysis form and the interview record form. The attained data were analyzed with content analysis technique and inductive conclusions. The research findings revealed that the self-practical characteristics in accordance with the philosophy of sufficiency economy for teaching profession development incorporated 11 characteristics of practices towards themselves, 6 characteristics of practices towards service receivers, 11 characteristics of practices towards people with the same career and 6 characteristics of practices towards the society.
