การศึกษาเนื้อหาและผลจากการเรียนฟลูตตามแนวทางของ เทรเวอร์ วาย (A Qualitative Investigation into Trevor Wye’s Flute Method)

Abstract

              งานวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาคุณภาพในการเล่นฟลูตในด้านโทน (Tone) เทคนิค (Technique) อาร์ทิคิวเลชัน (Articulation) อินโทเนชันและวิบราโต (Intonation and Vibrato) การหายใจ (Breathing) ของนักเรียนกลุ่มตัวอย่างก่อนและหลังการเข้าร่วมอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการ Trevor Wye Flute Master Classes and Concert in Thailand 2014 และเพื่อศึกษาเนื้อหาการสอนของเทรเวอร์ วาย ในการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการครั้งนี้เปรียบเทียบกับตำรา Trevor Wye Practice Books for the Flute

               ประชากรในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือ นักเรียนฟลูตจำนวน 11 คน ซึ่งเป็นผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับเนื้อหาและผลที่ได้รับจากการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการฯ จากนั้นกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 3 คนที่มีระดับการศึกษาต่างกันถูกคัดเลือกด้วยวิธีการสุ่มแบบสองขั้น (Stratified random sampling) เพื่อเป็นตัวแทนนักเรียนฟลูต ในระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย ระดับปริญญาตรี และระดับปริญญาโท เพื่อวิเคราะห์คุณภาพในการเล่นผ่านแบบสังเกต ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักเรียนกลุ่มตัวอย่างทั้ง 3 คน มีคุณภาพในการเล่นดีขึ้นและตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการซ้อมโดยเฉพาะเรื่องโทนและเทคนิคพื้นฐานอื่นๆ ส่วนในการเปรียบเทียบเนื้อหาในการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติ การฯ กับตำรา Trevor Wye Practice Books for the Flute  นั้น ผู้วิจัยพบว่าเนื้อหามีความคล้ายคลึงกัน เช่น มีการกล่าวถึงเทคนิคพื้นฐาน เช่น โทน บันไดเสียง อาร์ทิคิวเลชัน อย่างไรก็ตาม ในการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการฯ  มีเนื้อหาส่วนที่เพิ่มเติมคือ เรื่องการนำความรู้พื้นฐานทั้งหมดมาปฏิบัติจริงในการบรรเลงเพลงร่วมกับผู้อื่น ซึ่งผลการวิจัยดังกล่าวสามารถนำมาใช้ในการปรับปรุงการเรียนการสอนฟลูต  และการแต่งตำราเรียนฟลูตให้มีเนื้อหาครอบคลุมและเหมาะสมกับบริบททางการศึกษาอย่างหลากหลาย

                 Currently, flute playing is growing in popularity among Thai students. However, many of them lack sufficient knowledge in practicing fundamental skills such as tone, technique, articulation, intonation, breathing and scale resulting in deterioration of playing quality. The aim of this research is to investigate flute playing quality among Thai students who attended Trevor Wye Flute Master Classes and Concert in Thailand 2014 by Trevor Wye, a professional flautist and instructor. Additionally, teaching contents between two sources: The Master Classes and Trevor Wye Practice Books for the Flute, were also explored to see the similarities and differences. Eleven participants were asked to fill questionnaire about knowledge gained in the master classes and three of them were selected as a sample group to observe their playing quality before and after attending the master classes with Trevor Wye. In the meantime, teaching contents were also noted in the provided table. The results from qualitative analysis reveal that the sample group is better in overall performance especially tone quality and technique. This is because they were taught to raise awareness of a correct fundamental practicing which is explained in both master classes and Trevor Wye Practice Books for the Flute. Furthermore, attending the master classes provided the opportunity to integrate knowledge and skills which are important in musicianship. Future research might apply the contents from master classes including exercises and notes to develop proper teaching and learning methods for various music education.
