Antecedents and consequences of behavioral competencies for competitiveness and success of Thai - Malaysia border trade entrepreneurs to support the ASEAN Economic Community

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an antecedents and consequences of behavioral competencies for competitiveness and success of Thai - Malaysia border trade entrepreneurs to support the ASEAN Economic Community. The sample consisted of 210 cases of sampling from 5 southern province of Thailand. Data was significantly statistical analyzed by using LISREL program. The results indicated the developed model was valid and fitted to empirical data (c2=384.49, df=213, c2/df=1.81, CFI=0.98, RMSEA=0.062, SRMR=0.050). By characteristics of entrepreneurs factor, effect from development plan southern border provinces factor and behavioral competencies factor had direct positive influence to competitive advantage factor. Transformational leadership factor and effect from development plan southern border provinces factor had direct positive influence to behavioral competencies factor. Competitive advantage factor had direct positive influence to successful factor. Characteristics of entrepreneurs factor had not have direct positive influence to behavioral competencies factor. Transformational leadership factor and effect from AEC blueprint factor had not have direct positive influence to competitive advantage factor. Considering that behavioral competencies factor had total influence from transformational leadership factor with effect sizes 0.66 at significant level .05 and competitive advantage factor had total influence from behavioral competencies factor with effect sizes 0.47 at significant level .05. Successful factor had total influence from competitive advantage factor with effect sizes 0.87 at significant level .05.
