EDMODO as a Platform in Improving the Listening Skills Of Grade 12 EFL Learners

Abstract

             This research ran according to following purposes: 1) To develop a blended teaching approach utilizing EDMODO as a platform in improving the listening skills of grade 12 or Mattayomsuksa 6 EFL learners at 75/75 efficiency, 2) To compare students learning performance before and after the use of a blended teaching approach utilizing EDMODO as a platform in improving the listening skills of grade 12 EFL learners, and 3) To investigate on students’ opinion on this blended teaching approach. The sample used in this study was 30 Mattayomsuksa 6 students of Kasetsart University Laboratory School, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Educational Research and Development Center during the second semester of the academic year 2017 for 2 months. The instruments used for data collection included the blended teaching approach developed with EDMODO as a platform in improving the listening skills, a performance test and a questionnaire to investigate students’ opinion. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.


               The study was able to produce the following findings as a conclusion: 1) The developed blended teaching approach had the efficiency of 75.33/79.5 which was higher thanthe criteria standard of 75/75; 2) After the use of the developed blended teaching approach students’ learning performance was improved higher than before the treatment at a statistical significance of 0.0243 level. 3) The students highly agreed on the use of this blended teaching approach (  = 3.78, S.D. = 1.06).
