บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อที่จะศึกษางานสถาปัตยกรรมแบบ “รักชาติ” ที่สร้างขึ้นในรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 6 ระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2453-2468 ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้ทราบถึงแนวทางพระราชดำริของพระองค์อันมีรากฐานจากตะวันตกและได้ส่งผลต่อรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมแบบ “รักชาติ” ทั้งทางด้านรูปธรรมและนามธรรม รวมถึงศึกษาถึงผลสัมฤทธิ์ของทั้งแนวพระราชดำริและการสร้างสรรค์งานสถาปัตยกรรม
การศึกษาในครั้งนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยจะทำการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์ถึงพระราชดำริ และพระราชนิยมของพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 6 (พ.ศ. 2453-2468) ภายใต้แนวคิด “รักชาติ” ที่ได้ผ่านการรับรู้ทางประวัติศาสตร์ เศรษฐกิจ สังคม และการเมือง รวมถึงทางด้านศิลปะและสถาปัตยกรรม จากข้อมูลทั้งที่เป็นหลักฐานทางด้านเอกสารชั้นต้นและเอกสารชั้นรอง มาทำการเปรียบเทียบ วิเคราะห์ร่วมกับหลักฐานทางด้านกายภาพ คือ รูปแบบงานสถาปัตยกรรมแบบรักชาติที่สร้างขึ้นในรัชสมัย (พ.ศ. 2453-2468)
Abstract
This essay is a study of the patriotic architecture built during King Rama VI's reign (1910 - 1925 AD) in order to understand King Rama VI's concept that indoctrinated from the Western belief, affecting the "patriots" architectural style on both the concrete and abstract. Included is also a study of the accomplishment of all Royal thought and the architectural creation of that period.
This study is based on an historical architecture research methodology throughout the study and on an analysis of the royal thought and the style of King Rama VI (2453-2468), influenced by the concept of “patriotism", that can be seen in the historical, economic, social and political aspects of his reign, as well as in the arts and architecture of the period. This thesis is based on the study and consideration of all the evidence in primary documents and secondary documents. Then a comparison is made through an analysis of physical evidence, namely, examples of "patriotic" architectural that were built during his reign (1910 -1925 AD).
