บทคัดย่อ

การศึกษานี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการประยุกต์ใช้วัสดุชนิดใหม่ในงานสถาปัตยกรรมและสิ่งปลูกสร้างท้องถิ่นในแถบลุ่มน้ำนครชัยศรี โดยมุ่งเน้นที่การใช้สายยางยืดจากอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอในการก่อสร้างอาคารพื้นบ้าน

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การใช้สายยางยืดจากอุตสาหกรรมสิ่งทอในการก่อสร้างสิ่งปลูกสร้างพื้นบ้านที่กระจายอยู่ทั่วไปตามพื้นที่อำเภอสามพราน อำเภอนครชัยศรี และอำเภอพุทธมณฑล จังหวัดนครปฐม การใช้สายยางยืดในพื้นที่นี้ถือเป็น นวัตกรรมชนิดต่อเนื่อง (Incremental Innovation) ที่เกิดและค่อยๆ พัฒนาขึ้นในท้องถิ่น ปัจจัยหลักที่ทำให้สายยางยืดได้รับการยอมรับในชุมชน คือ ความยืดหยุ่นของวัสดุ ความไม่ซับซ้อน สามารถมองแล้วเข้าใจได้ง่าย ง่ายในการนำไปทดลองใช้และดัดแปลงโดยเกษตรกร ได้ประโยชน์มากกว่าการใช้ลวดแบบเดิม และเข้ากันได้กับวิถีดั้งเดิม โดยปัจจัยที่ส่งเสริมให้เกิดปรากฏการณ์นี้ ได้แก่ ระบบการผลิตจากโรงงาน ระบบพ่อค้าคนกลาง และการแนะนำแบบปากต่อปาก

Abstract

This study investigates a material adoption model employed by community-based builders in the construction of local architecture within Nakornchaisri basin. The use of elastic bands, discarded from neighboring textile industry, in local construction is the main focus of this study.

The findings indicate that the use of elastic bands from textile industries in community-construction in Sampran District, Nakornchaisri District and Bhudamontol District in Nakornpathom Province started with the construction of trellis by orchard workers in Sampran District. There was little risk in using elastic bands for planting support. The use of elastic bands in these local structures may be considered an Incremental Innovation. It offers several benefits to local communities: economically, architecturally as well as by improving construction speed and craftsmanship. The contributing factors to the diffusion of elastic bands among builders include material flexibility, ease of use, local industry (ensure steady material supply), dealer system and ‘words of mouth’ recommendation.
