ประสิทธิภาพของกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ที่เน้นสาระการท่องเที่ยวในประชาคมอาเซียนที่มีผลต่อความสามารถในการอ่าน-เขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลพระนคร

บทคัดย่อ

               การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาและหาประสิทธิภาพของกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ 2) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่าน-เขียนภาษาอังกฤษก่อนและหลังเรียนด้วยกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น และ3) ศึกษาความคิดเห็นของนักศึกษาที่มีต่อกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 สาขาภาษาอังกฤษธุรกิจ คณะบริหารธุรกิจ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลพระนคร จำนวน 24 คน ได้จากการสุ่มแบบเจาะจง ดำเนินการทดลองโดยให้นักศึกษาเรียนด้วยกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ จำนวน 5 กิจกรรม ใช้เวลาในการเรียน 7 สัปดาห์ สัปดาห์ละ 1 วัน วันละ 3 คาบเรียน รวมทั้งสิ้น 21 คาบ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย 1) กิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ที่เน้นสาระการท่องเที่ยวในประชาคมอาเซียน 2) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่าน-เขียนภาษาอังกฤษ และ3) แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นที่มีต่อกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้ t-test เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่าน-เขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาก่อนและหลังเรียนด้วยกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ และใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยและส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานในการหาค่าระดับความคิดเห็นของนักศึกษาที่มีต่อกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ประสิทธิภาพของกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ มีค่าเท่ากับ 81.10/78.99 ซึ่งถือว่าสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดไว้คือ 75/75 2) ความสามารถในการอ่าน-เขียนภาษาอังกฤษของกลุ่มตัวอย่างสูงขึ้นหลังจากเรียนด้วยกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 และ3)กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีความคิดเห็นที่ดีต่อกิจกรรมเว็บเควสท์ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น

Abstract

               The purposes of the research were 1) to develop and test the efficiency of WebQuest- based activities; 2) to compare students’ English reading-writing abilities before and after using WebQuest-based activities; and 3) to survey students’ opinions toward WebQuest– based activities. The sample, selected by a purposive sampling technique, comprises 24 third-year students, majoring in Business English in the Faculty of Business Administration at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. The students studied five WebQuest-based activities. The duration of experimental research covered 21 class sessions over a seven-week period. The instruments used for gathering data consisted of: 1) WebQuest-based activities focusing on ASEAN community tourism; 2) English reading-writing abilities test, used as a pre-test and a post-test; and 3) a questionnaire on opinions toward WebQuest-based activities. The paired-samples t-test was used to analyze the gathered data in order to assess students’ English reading-writing abilities before and after using WebQuest-based activities. Furthermore, the mean and standard deviation of items were used to evaluate students’ opinions toward WebQuest-based activities. The results of the study were as follows: 1) The efficiency score of WebQuest-based activities was 81.10/78.99. The average score of WebQuest-based activities’ formative test from 5 activities was 81.10 percent and the average score of the post-test was 78.99 percent. Consequently, the efficiency score of WebQuest-based activities was higher than the expected criterion (75/75); 2) The students’ English reading-writing abilities after studying through WebQuest-based activitites were significantly higher at the 0.05 level; and 3) The students’ opinions toward WebQuest-based activities were positive.
