Abstract

Abstract

The study had three objectives. The first was to develop computer-assisted lessons on Pali-Sanskrit loan words in the Thai language for Matthayom 3 students 

in order to meet the standard of the 80-80 Efficiency Level. Secondly, the study aimed to compare the students' scores on a Pali-Sanskrit loan word test before and after studying the computer-assisted lessons. Finally, the study measured the students' opinions about the computer-assisted lessons on Pali-Sanskrit loan words. A simple sampling method was used to select the test group of 40 Matthayom 3 students and took place during the first semester of the 2014 academic year at the Suwannaramwitthayakom School. The students made use of the computer-assisted lessons for 4 hours.

The study tools were 1) computer-assisted lessons on Pali-Sanskrit loan words in the Thai language, 2) lesson plans on Pali-Sanskrit loan words in the Thai language, 3) a pretest and posttest, and 4) a questionnaire about the students’ opinions on the computer-assisted lessons. The statistical tools used for data analysis were mean score, standard deviation (S.D.), and t-test.

The study found that:

  1. The efficiency of the computer-assisted lessons on Pali-Sanskrit loan words in

the Thai language was 81.13/85.08.

       2. The students’ scores improved after studying the computer-assisted lessons on Pali-Sanskrit loan words in the Thai language. It was statistically significant at .01.

        3. The students preferred the computer-assisted lessons (4.77/5) and the S.D. was 0.36.
