Factor associated with functional ability in patients with stroke

Abstract

This retrospective analytic study aimed to survey the factor associated with functional ability in patients with stroke by collecting data from the completely recorded physical therapy cards during October 2015 to September 2016. The data were reported as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation and were analyzed by chi-square test, and odds ratio (crude OR) by using logistic regression (95% confidence interval: 95% CI) with statistic significant level at 0.05. There were 448 stroke patients in this study, 56.7% were male. About 64.1 % of them were ischemic/infarction stroke and 44.9 % of them had left side weakness. There were 448 stroke patients (99.6 %) received rehabilitation program within 6 months post-stroke. The patients have treat by physical therapy 1 time before discharge 63.8%. The stroke patients can move about 64.83 %.  The factors affecting the stroke Patient Movements is ischemic more than hemorrhage 2.076 times respectively (Odd ratio 2.76; 95% CI 1.168-3.689). The pathology is the one of prognosis to movements.
