Learning Assessment of Training Program on Anesthesia Electronic Medical Record

Abstract

Introduction: An intraoperative, anesthetic medical record has long been written by hand for years; resulting in neither completeness nor accurateness for the benefits of data retrieval and references. After Anesthesia Electronic Medical Record has successfully developed on a feasibility study, investigators would like to know its pragmatic approach to dealing with the daily rounds by training and assessment technique.


Materials and Method: Investigators merely used Kirkpatric model on learning aspect to assess the 45-minute training program. All tests were validated for content validity, objectivity, difficulty and discrimination with an internal reliability of Cronbach’s alpha as 0.88. The 30-minute pre and post-test, as well as satisfaction questionnaires were performed in 36 nurse anesthetist students.


Results: Students earned a significant difference between pre and post-test achievement scores as 15.9 ± 3.3 and 27.5 ± 3.5 respectively (p=0.000). In addition, the growth scores was 47.8 ± 14.2%. They expressed the feeling of contentment in place, facilitators, contents, instructor and presentation as 4.0 ± 0.92, 4.1 ± 0.89, 3.1 ± 0.91, 3.9 ± 0.94 and 3.9 ± 0.95, respectively. Conclusion: The assessment on Anesthesia Electronic Medical Record training program helped anesthetist students apply knowledge to their work.
