Abstract

บทคัดย่อ
     บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อรวบรวมพืชพื้นเมืองในประเทศไทยที่ให้สีดำ ในการย้อมผ้าสีธรรมชาติสำหรับเส้นใยฝ้ายและไหม โดยศึกษาวิธีการย้อมสีที่เหมาะสมเพื่อให้สามารถย้อมผ้าสีดำที่มีความคงทนของสีต่อแสงและการซัก พืชพื้นเมืองที่รวบรวมได้ตามภาคต่างๆ ในประเทศไทย คือ กระจาย กระบก ก้างปลาเครือ คนทา โคลงเคลงขี้นก เงาะโรงเรียน ตันหยงตับเต่าต้น ตะโกไทย น้อยโหน่ง ประสัก ฝาง ฝรั่ง มะกาเครือ มะเกิ้ม มะเกลือ มะขามป้อม มะพลับ มะยมป่า มังคุด แมแหมะรกฟ้า สมอทะเล สมอพิเภก สมอไทย เสม็ด สีพับ หมาก และหูกวาง โดยใช้ส่วนที่เป็นผล ดอก ใบ เนื้อไม้ และเปลือกลำต้นมาสกัดสีย้อม หลักการย้อมสีที่ใช้ในการย้อมผ้าสีดำ คือ การย้อมแบบสีมอร์แดนท์และการย้อมแบบรีดิวส์หรือแบบสีแว็ตการสกัดสีใช้วิธีการต้มแล้วนำน้ำสีมาย้อมผ้าแบบย้อมร้อน แล้วย้อมทับด้วยสารช่วยติด คือ น้ำโคลนหรือเฟอรัสซัลเฟตสีของผ้าจะมีความคงทนต่อแสงและการซักระดับดีมาก พืชที่นิยมใช้ย้อมผ้าสีดำมากที่สุด คือ มะเกลือ ส่วนพืชพื้นเมืองอื่นจะใช้เป็นวัตถุดิบในการย้อมตามความสามารถในการหาวัตถุดิบได้ง่ายในพื้นที่

Abstract
     The objectives of this article were to gather local plants in Thailand for natural dyeing cotton and silk fibers and to study the appropriate dyeing methods to obtain black color on fabric for good light fastness and washing fastness. The local plants collected from different area in Thailand are: Krachai, Krabok, Gangplakhrou, Konta, Klongklangkeenok, Rambutan, Teripod-plant, Tubtoutan, Tagoathai, Custard-apple, Black mangrove, Indian redwood, Guava, Magakhrou, Makhum, Ebony tree, Emblic myrobalan, Maplup, Mayoumpha, Mangosteen, Mouse deer’s poplar, Rokfa, Mock-willow, Beleric myrobalan, Chebulic Myrobalan, Smead, Sripub, Arecanut, and Indian almond. The basic principle of natural black dyeing is mordant dye and reduced dye or vat dye.The process of dye extraction is boiling parts of the plant such as fruit, flower, leaf and bark, then dyeing in the hot dye bath, after that over dyeing with mordant, such as mud or ferrous sulfate. The light fastness and washing is very good. Ebony fruit provides most of black dye. The rest of other plants can be dyed for availability in local area.
