VL - 10 IS - 1 SE - Research Articles DO - UR - https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bahcuojs/article/view/144996 SP - 55-72 AB - <p>This is a qualitative research aims to explain an insight or a reason to work as a<br>civil servant and to study a perception of Public Service Motivation and an importance of<br>benefits in an organization on a decision to be a civil servant. An in-depth interview with<br>20 civil servants work as a Government Office was employed.<br>The results of this study showed that eight civil servants are served in the public<br>service because of the Public Service Motivation. They showed public interest through the<br>following dimensions which are 1) attraction to public policy formation, 2) commitment to<br>public interest, 3) compassion, 4) self-sacrifice. All were reflected as intentions to be a civil<br>servant. These conform to the mission of government that focuses in servicing the needs of<br>people. The twelve servants are motivated to serve in the Public Service with four main<br>reasons 1) concerning on the benefits and advantages for themselves and family, 2) the<br>more security life after retirement, 3) reducing costs of living, and 4) a moral for civil<br>servant job. In addition, the main reason is related with a security of living.</p> ER -
