บทคัดย่อ

     การดูแลแบบประคับประคองในทารกแรกเกิดเป็นงานหนึ่งที่สำคัญของพยาบาลในหอผู้ป่วยหนักทารกแรกเกิด โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อช่วยให้ทารกมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี ซึ่งความรู้เกี่ยวกับการพยาบาลทารกแรกเกิดแบบประคับประคองในประเทศไทยยังไม่กว้างขวางนัก  บทความวิชาการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อนําเสนอความรู้เกี่ยวกับบทบาทของพยาบาลในการดูแลแบบประคับประคองในทารกแรกเกิดและครอบครัวขณะรับการรักษาในหอผู้ป่วยหนักทารกแรกเกิด  ประกอบด้วย  การสื่อสารและการให้ข้อมูลเพื่อการตัดสินใจถึงทางเลือกที่เหมาะสมแก่ครอบครัว   การตั้งเป้าหมายการรักษาและการวางแผนการรักษาล่วงหน้า   การพยาบาลทารกแรกเกิดระยะสุดท้ายและครอบครัว  การประคับประคองครอบครัวด้านอารมณ์ จิตใจ สังคม และจิตวิญญาณตามวัฒนธรรม  การดูแลความเศร้าโศกของครอบครัวที่สูญเสียทารก รวมถึงการให้ความช่วยเหลือแก่ทีมบุคลากรทางการแพทย์
