Abstract

This research is the study about role of local communities in the development
of tourism market in Buriram Province with KhaoKradong Forest Park case study. The
purpose of this study is about the role of community participation in the development
of tourism market in KhaoKradong Forest Park, Mueang District, Buriram and to fnd
methods to develop tourism market of KhaoKradong Forest Park, Mueang District
Buriram province.The people in the community near the tourist communities were
selected as samples of this study. They are cummunity leaders and related organizations
from Sa-med community, I-san community and Sawai-Chek community from Mueng
District, Buriram. The researcher determined the sample size using the population size
formula, referring the Taro Yamane formula to test the tools reliability. Information
gathered were done by studying relevant documents. The research was conducted
both quantitative interviews and conferences with relevant people to fnd method of
development KhaoKradong Forest Park. Once the data has been collected. The data
were analyzed and summarized as follows.
Quantity information
The roles of community participation in tourism marketing development
in KhaoKradong Forest Park could be classifed by services marketing, thus, tourism
and services, prices, places, promotion, personnel, process, physical evidences,
production, people involvement in KhaoKradong Forest Park are in average level.
Quality information
According to the interview about method of tourism market development
in Kao Kradong Park, Buriram, the conclusion of comments are as follow; the Kao
Kradong Park should be developed by environment conservation pattern so it could
materialize into a recreation park. The Kao Kradong Park should also be designed to
be used as learning center of geology for natural volcanic study. Government should
apply control over number of souvenir and food shops. Renovation of entrance and
scenery, there should be more trees around the area to create better scenery. Develop
local community around the tourism area and to create clean environment. Develop
content in Thai and at least 3 other languages to attract more tourists and increase
channel of information distribution such as brochures, radio channel, television program,
online and offline articles. There are still few number of staff at present and there
should be more recruitment of staff to support the tourists which number tend
to increase every year. Coordinate with local government and academic institutions
to help promoting tourism information. Organize tourist security assistance staffs.
Organize environmental conscious campaign to prevent tourist and community people
dumping of waste around the area. New technology should be used to help provide
tourist services such as WIFI availability in tourist area.
