Supply Chain Management Processes Improvement in Retail Business : Case Study of C.P.Retailing and Marketing CO., LTD.
This research study consist of three main objectives. Firstly, to study current status of supply chain management technique applications. Next, to study results which have occurred to the organization by using supply chain management techniques. The last one is to study relationships and results of supply chain management technique in C.P. Retailing and Marketing Co., Ltd.The sample group is employees of C.P. Retailing and Marketing Co., Ltd., who work in departments of marketing planning, raw material supply, production and delivery. The sample size for this study is 85 people by using purposive sampling method for selection. The data collection tool is questionnaire with 5-scale rating. The collected data is then analyzed by applying statistics to acquire percentages, means, and standard deviations.
This data analysis study found that C.P. Retailing and Marketing Co., Ltd. has applied various supply chain techniques that has become prevalent in the organization such as lean production, just-in-time system, total quality management (TQM) and etc. Currently, lean production technique is brought in to enhance production style. Moreover, the questionnaire result suggests that each main department of the company is equipped with knowledge of other department functions.This research study has linked with organization successes to the application of suggested supply chain management technique in each process. For example, by applying vender managed inventory (VMI) technique in working processes for inventory cost reductions and accident and natural disaster risk reductions, the company can reduce costs on insurance as well.
