Elevating Productivity and Incomes of Farmers by the Project 0.39 Acres Get One Hundred Thousand Bath, A Case Study of Bang Tanai Nonthaburi

Abstract

This research studied on a demonstrative farming at Bang Tanai Nonthaburi where the concepts of sufficient economy philosophy, the first step of New Theory, and the business concepts were applied in a small area (0.39 acres). The area was divided into several parts including a rice farm,a fish pond, an animal field, and vegetable plots. The result showed that the rice yield in this project averaged at 461.9 kg which was not different from that in a normal farm with the average of 369.18 kg. Thus, the output from this project was of higher productivity than that from a regular farm. In addition, the income and profit of farmers in the project were significantly different from those received from a normal rice farm at 0.01 level. The average revenue earned from this project was around 140, 145 baht per 0.39 acres, with the average net profit of 111,996 baht per 0.39 acres, while the average income from normal farm was 4,120 baht per 0.39 acres, with the average net profit of 1,964 baht per 0.39 acres.
