A Discriminant Analysis of Factors for Selecting Learning Plans of Mathayomsuksa 4 Students in Chiang Rai

Abstract
The purposes of this study aimed to investigate the discriminant factors affecting the selection of learning plans, mattayomsuksa 4 students in Chiangrai Secondary Educational Service Area Offce 36, and to construct discriminant equations of the selection of learning plans, mattayomsuksa 4 students. 372 out of the 5,803 mathayomsuksa 4 students in Chiangrai Secondary Educational Service Area Offce 36 during the academic year 2015 were selected by stratifed random sampling technique. The instrument used for collecting
data was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using Wilks’ method of stepwise discriminant analysis.
The result of this study revealed that factors affecting the selection of learning plans, mattayomsuksa 4 students consisted of GPA and education of father respectively.
The co-effciencies and standard equation with its accuracy of 72.40% Zy Total = .970Z (GPA)
+ .271Z (Education bachelor’s degree of father).
