Abstract

This article represents an attempt to disseminate knowledge on the production and use of bronze during prehistoric period in Thailand and is divided into 3 parts; namely, 1. introduction, 2. bronze manufacturing and use in prehistoric period of Thailand, 3. impact of metallurgical development on the past human society and culture

The studies focus on the relationship between development of metallurgical technology and ancient culture in various parts of the world suggest that such the development in most cases related to the emergence of complex society and culture. For the case of Thailand, although there is still not many study specifically designed for the elucidation of such the relationship, there are some archaeological evidence suggest that the development of metallurgy was one among the major factors which shaped the trend of cultural changes during the late prehistoric period of Thailand.
