Abstract

This research aims to explore the attitudes toward learning French grammar of Thai undergraduate students. Twenty participants from Srinakharinwirot University completed the questionnaire which is
divided into three parts: grammar learning, revision, and the importance of grammar. The results are qualitatively analyzed and show that most Thai students are positive about learning French grammar and
are aware of the importance of grammar. They are satisfied with their French studies in the university because they can learn a large number of grammatical rules and the complexity of the content. However, the main factor that drives learners to review outside the classroom is the exam. The motivation for learning therefore remains extrinsic.
