The Effects of Mathematics Learning Activities of Prathom Suksa Four Students on “Money” by Using Games - Based Learning

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to study mathematics learning achievement of Prathom Suksa IV students on the Topic of “Money” by using games- based learning; and (2) to study students’ opinions towards learning activities on the Topic of “Money” by using  games- based learning. The research sample consisted of 36 Prathom Suksa IV students of one classroom at Watphasukmaneejak School, in the second semester of the academic year 2016, obtained by cluster sampling. The research instruments were (1) 8 lesson plans on the Topic of “Money”; (2) a mathematics achievement test on the Topic of “Money”; and (3) a questionnaire about opinions towards learning activities on the Topic of “Money” by using games- based learning. The data were analyzed by using the percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research findings revealed that (1) mathematics learning achievement of Prathom Suksa IV students on the Topic of “Money” by using games- based learning after learning was higher than 70% criteria at the .05 level of statistical significance; and (2) most of the students agreed that the learning activities were most appropriate in all aspects.
