Abstract

          อุปรากรเรื่อง “แหวนวิเศษแห่งไนเบลุงเกน” ของริชาร์ด วากเนอร์ เป็นงานชุดสำคัญในประวัติศาสตร์ดนตรีและการละครของตะวันตก งานชิ้นนี้มีนวัตกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นอยู่หลายประการ บทความชิ้นนี้เลือกนำเอาบทเพลงโหมโรงสำหรับองก์ที่ 1 จากอุปรากรตอนแรก ทองแห่งไรน์ มาพิจารณาโดยนำเสนอกระบวนทัศน์ที่เปลี่ยนไปจากกลวิธีการประพันธ์ที่ให้ความสำคัญของการพัฒนาบทประพันธ์เพลงด้วยทำนองและการดำเนินคอร์ดไปเป็นการพัฒนาด้วยการใช้สีสันและเนื้อดนตรี จากนั้นจะแสดงตัวอย่างเปรียบเทียบเพื่ออธิบายถึงอิทธิพลที่ส่งถึงดนตรียุคต่อมานับแต่ช่วงปลายศตวรรษที่ 19 ดังมีเดอบุซซีและมาห์เลอร์เป็นอาทิ ต่อมาจะเปรียบเทียบเพลงโหมโรงชิ้นนี้กับงานชิ้นสำคัญของเชินแบร์ก ลิเกตี และงานของนักแต่งเพลงที่มีชีวิตต่อเนื่องมายังศตวรรษที่ 21 อย่างไรค์และอับราฮัมเซน ก่อนที่จะสรุปให้เห็นถึงภาพรวมของความสำคัญที่บทเพลงนี้มีต่อดนตรีในปัจจุบัน

          Richard Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen is an important work in history of western music drama. The cycle created considerable innovations for those branches of art form. This article selects prelude to act I of the first opera in the cycle, Das Rheingold, to examine the shifting in composition paradigm that changed from motivic-thematic and chord progression (tonality) development to timbral and textural realm. Various examples were compared to explain the influence which this prelude has on pieces of music from late 19^th century such as works by Debussy and Mahler to some 20^th century works like those of Schönberg and Ligeti. Music of living composers which could be called 21^st century works like those of Reich and Abrahamsen were also compared. Finally, the article will conclude the significant of the prelude to the development of music in the present time.
